Easy Dub Micro Chenille – a great tying material for small flies

I found it long time ago in UK, Veniard is selling it in a large spectrum of colors. This chenille is really fantastic due to his structure and size.

Here are photos of this material:

The core is a kind of thread which is semi rigid, not like wire but not very soft. That is good because if you want to wrap it and make bodies you can do that without problem. If you want to make extended bodies again is great because it stays straight. So the”attitude” of material is in our favour.

Here are a few examples with flies where I use it:

Twisted rope type – for parachute flies and mayflies.
Wrapped body – an fuzzy aspect, super simple and easy to create.

As you can see it is super easy and simple to make these bodies and tails.

Easy dub micro chenille used as body and head for micro nymphs
detached body made with black easy dub chenille

I’m more than happy with it because is very versatile and it gave me lots of possibilities.

I can create super easy and fast lots of flies.

    Hi,
Would you have the material list for the CDC flies above?
    Thanks

      Hi Paul,
I wrap the hook shank with perdigon tinsel but you can use any kind of tinsel you like. Tail/body is made of a Easy Dub Micro Chenille. You can apply a small qty of squirrel fur from squirrel mask. I use that fur because is very small in fiber length. Then cdc barbs are fixed and the fly is ready. You can complicate it or simplify it as you wish πŸ™‚
