Video -Tying a Cripple Baetis Nymph on size #16

2 No tags Permalink

This nymph is very efficient when it comes to fishing very shy and picky trout. Whether Czech or French style of nymphing is used, this fly made on small hooks from 16 to 20 will fool any fish. The fly can be tied with a quill body or thread, but what makes it special is the Diamond body thread. It gives extra sparkle and more attractiveness. It is very important to make a fine, delicate body because it is more effective and is preferable to bulky ones. An important tip is that the cover body made of Diamond Body Thread should be made in such a way that a bit of the yellow underbody can be seen. In this way, it gives it more naturalness. Materials:

  • Maruto C46WBL #18 ( you can use any hook you like – Hanak is a fantastic option by the way )

  • Body Thread: Diamond Body Thread -A12
  • Thorax: Diamond Body Thread -A19
  • Legs: Partridge barbs
  • Back: Perdigon Body Thread -A14
  • Coating: only for back : Perdigon thin resin
