Micro French Quill Nymph

Sometimes you need very small nymphs to fish in super clear waters. Trout and grayling are eating very often some super small flies, something that we cannot see. Probably they are very small mayflies or buzzers or baetis nymphs, difficult to say. Here is a general pattern that I received from a French fisherman who was able to catch trout after trout in difficult fishing conditions. From that moment I use his fly in such situations and I made some variations too.

  • Demmon DHG 903 BL #20
  • 30DEN or 50DEN thread – white
  • Body: Natural quill or synthetic quill.
  • Bead- tungsten in 2mm or 1,5mm
  • Thorax: synthetic white
