Grayling Peacock Quill -Parachute style

by Lucian Vasies

Grayling Peacock Quill is a simple fly but in the same time quite complicate if you want to catch grayling. The problem stays in how delicate is tied. Grayling is very picky what he eats in Autumn time and he eats what flies in this season: delicate and small flies.

The most important rule in tying grayling dry flies is to not overdress them, Tie them as slim and sparse as possible.

Here is my version:

Hook: Barbless with fine wire

Thread: Grey Veevus 16/0

Tail: Coq de Leon Medium Pardo

Body: Troutline Hand cleaned peacock quill -natural

Parachute Axe: CDC grey

Hackle: ginger
