Big, fat and ugly bug will work all the time when the new fishing season starts. Here is one that works excellent because has enough sparkle to attract the fish and is discrete enough to not scare it.
My advice is to use big flies because:
- big means protein for fish
- will not scare the fish after the long winter
- big will be more visibleĀ compared with small and delicate
- big will be hunted by serious fish
Hot spots can stimulate the fish to be more active but sometimes, when the water is very clear, low and cold, very often a hot orange can scary. A good and tested way is to make the body of the fly using a mix of natural dubbing and synthetic one. The sparkle synthetic dubbing will make the fly peachy š
