Spring is here: Time to Hatch Some Classics!

With the sun warming the air and the whisper of new life in the breeze, one thing’s for sure: spring has sprung! And what better way to celebrate than by hitting the river and matching the hatch?

Evening dance parties of insects above the water are a sure sign that the fish are getting hungry. That’s why I decided to tie a classic fly pattern, proven to be deadly on sunny spring days.

These flies are the perfect choice to entice those recently awakened trout.

The Light Olive Dun -tied super sparse ( for low and ginger clear waters)-tied small on size #14/16:

The Little Yellow Dun tied big on size #12:

The Dark Yellow Dun tied big, on size #12:

Are you ready to get your line in the water? Share your favorite spring fly patterns in the comments below and I will try to tie them so that everybody can see them ( of course if they are not secret 🙂 )
