About fifteen years ago, while fishing the San River in Poland, I met a local fisherman who completely changed the way I looked at emergers.
He was one of those rare anglers who seemed to hook fish on every cast, while the rest of us could only watch and wonder how he did it.

During a short break on the riverbank, he smiled and revealed his secret — a translucent pink mylar fiber he had taken from his wife’s dress.
He used it to rib the entire body of his emergers, giving them a subtle flash that trout simply couldn’t resist.
That moment stayed with me. Years later, I managed to find the same type of fiber and began producing it on our own spools. I sent him a few spools not long ago, and he wrote back saying he’s still catching fish just like the old days.
That small discovery became the inspiration behind our Troutline San Emerger Series — delicate, effective, and proven on one of Europe’s most iconic trout rivers.
