Some time ago I tied a caddis pupa with a semi-free body. The idea was simple: to give the nymph more movement. I didn’t want it to behave like a small “rock” on the bottom, but to come alive under the influence of the current—moving in a way that can trigger interest even from the most cautious fish.
Today I’m moving on to the fly shown here: a nymph from the cased caddis series, one of my favorites for the first half of the season. And I asked myself the same question as before: how can I apply the same principle—more movement?

So I decided to imitate a dead cased caddis, or one that is changing its “house.” Even if it isn’t the most “graceful” fly—its body almost completely out of the tube-style case—I’m convinced that the movement and the color will make it a real fish-catcher.
Below there is the recipe and in the photos and the video ( soon it will be published here ), you can see how simple it is to tie.
