Here are an updated list with most used colors from Coq de Leon Pardo. For those who are not familiar with these feathers Coq de Leon feathers are world-famous for their unique speckled pattern, incredible sheen, and exceptional durability. Originating from the León region of Spain, these feathers have been used by fly tiers for centuries to create realistic and long-lasting flies. Among the most prized are the Pardo and Indio types, each offering distinct shades and markings perfect for tails, hackles, and bodies.
Feathers are collected in two shapes: Riñón (also spelled Rihnon)—short, rounded feathers from the kidney area—and Colgaderas—long, flowing saddle feathers from the back, close to tail area. Together they offer a full palette of textures and colors for nymphs, wets, and dries.
Bellow at left is rihnon and at right is colgaderas.
