If you enjoy tying nymphs, here’s an excellent pattern for this time of year: a generic mayfly nymph that’s simple to tie and highly effective. Just take a look under the river rocks—you’ll find plenty of mayfly nymphs crawling around, so it’s always a good idea to have a few imitations in your fly box.

This fly is easy to tie—perfect for beginners who haven’t yet built the skills to work with dubbing or delicate materials like quill, biot, or feather fibers. Using Mojo Yarn, you can create flies that not only look great but also mimic the natural colors of real insects. Plus, it’s durable and very easy to work with.

Of course, you can adapt the body and ribbing colors to match the insects in your local waters.
So here are the materials:
- Hook: Demmon N111 BL #18
