Yellow-Olive CDC Dun Dry Fly

0 No tags Permalink

Yellow-Olive CDC Dun is my favourite dry fly with CDC wing when I fish on rivers with slow running currents. I made it based on old recipe of a CDC dry fly from Mouche Devaux catalog. It is efficient for both trout and grayling and the size I use mostly is #16 hook.

Materials used:

  • Hook: #16 fine wire hook
  • Thread: for body I use Champion Micro Split in yellow or Perdigon Body Thread in yellow
  • Ribbing: Perdigon Body Thread in yellow
  • Tail: Coq de Leon Rubion
  • Thorax: guard squirrel fur dubbed or fixed using the split thread technique
  • Wing: 2 cdc feathers.
