Tying Recipe and materials:

  • Hook: Barbless #14-#20
    Thread: Uni 8/0
    Body: blue dun thread
    Tail: long synthetic fibers tied in V
    Wing: CDC in natural tan color from Teal Duck
    Thorax: hare dubbing from mask – Mad rabbit Dubbing in natural color

Fishing tips:

  • perfect for fishing when Baetis insects hatch
    extremely efficient in Summer time and in Autumn
    tied on size #18-20 is  great for catching grayling late in evenings

    Lucian, How do you tie the wing? Is it just fibers cut from the stem, or is the stem tied in, too? If stem is tied in, do you use 2 feathers and split them into separate wings? I tried tying this with stem in, but got a very flat, odd-shaped wing. Maybe I didn’t use enough feathers. I wish you would post a video of the tying of this fly.

      Hi David,
      Sorry for my late reply. It is tied using paraloop technique. I will make a video because is difficult to explain in words .
